The Awkward "are you happy?" Question

But what , then , is Life ?

But what ,then,  is 'Life' ?

The purpose of Life is a 'life of purpose'.

Life is a long wait; a lonely bed
Always waking on your own
Dwelling amid a maddening crowd
Yet feeling home alone . . . .

Life is writing a book . . .
Knowing your perfect beginning
But where to go from there ?
Whose crux is its ending. . .

Life is signing treaties with what’s ‘lifeless’
Donning a veil of indifference. . . . .
When behind a facade of  ecstatic laughter
Lies that tear-stained visage
It is flawless pretense . . . .

Life is a sudden , profound downpour
From a cloudless, sunny afternoon sky
Soaking yourself in the sweet rain
Only to remain achingly dry . . . . .

Life is going back to ‘normal’
Following old , smudgy footsteps
Never  treading on the unsullied mud
Warily advancing ,not being reckless

It’s an unending quest. . . . .
Of  fathoming the unfathomable
Yet pondering like a layman
But what, then , is ‘Life’ ?

Life is hunting down the Holy Grail
Of  subjective truth . . . . .
Armored protectively in a chain-mail
Sewn sardonically with lies.

Life is smelling dead roses
As they die their brief deaths,
Uncared, in crystalline vases
Yet to feel no regret . . . . .

Life is reading between the lines
Scrutinizing evey comma and full stop
Recognizing ‘deceit’ hidden in beautiful words
Before exclamation catches you off guard
Where innocence is followed by fines.

Life is a wild goose chase . . .
Going round and round a maze
Far out of reach from the center
Then halfway down meeting a stranger

Life is losing, and getting lost
Murdering your ardent desires. . .
Trampling long-cherished dreams
Only to be at an ‘alien somewhere’. . .

It’s a villainous mystery........
Whoever prides himself  to have resolved
At nightfall , in appalling secrecy,
Asks himself: ‘But what, then, is Life ?’

My First Song Cover =)

 Hey everyone,

This is my first attempt to cover the famous gothic-rock band Evanescence's song My Immortal, originally sung by Amy Lee. Both Amy Lee and Evanescence are my most favourite musician/band . :) I don't think I sound even 30% close to her great singing , but I tried my best to keep the music & lyrics in place . Any errors made should be gladly pointed out.
The following link directs to my Facebook page, where you watch see the vidoe . Click! Don't forget to leave me your feedbacks :D

So Enjoy ! :)

A Silent Confession

 A Silent Confession

To Him - a dear friend , a musician & a wild man I've known from the Sea...

What if another day passes by?
Recalling your luscious fragrance
Intoxicating my senses

What if tonight yet again….
I stroll down the deserted shore
of our beautifully immortal memories?
Why would you accuse me
if I run blindfolded towards a vast, sleeping ocean?
And drown myself in nostalgia….

What if tomorrow I can bear no longer?
This inexplicable separation, the unbroken silence
Oh, why would you leave me alone
if never I can let go of you?

If I keep the fire of my love ignited
If at every dawn break I follow your footsteps
Just to reach you once more….
Why would it be wrong?

I have lived a thousand lies

Just to escape from the glare of Truth…

Spent sleepless a thousand wintry nights

Looking everywhere for you

I have dreamt your beloved face

On many midsummer’s dreams

And drenched myself in tears of loss…

Why are you in a maddening rush?
To break our bond of unending passion...
Forget old promises before they reach completion
My dearest love, oh

why won’t you let time linger….?
When I can endure no matter the pain
When I can wait for an eon more
Why would you now end it all?

I have lied a thousand times

Just to hold you back for one more day

Suffered silently through the night

As I cradled you to sleep in my arms

For one last time

I have woken up lonely the next day

Alone on this bed where you once slept

And pinched myself in disbelief

I desperately wished it was a bad dream

What if another day passes by?
As I wait patiently for your return
With your farewell note engraved in my heart

What if I always believe no matter what?
That suddenly a miracle could occur…
Why won’t you still come back
to soothe my agonizing wounds….?

I will wear new masks of falsehood
To erase your memories forever…
But no longer shall I hide from the truth
How bitter it might seem

I don’t feel cold anymore
The warmth can’t touch my soul
Everyday until you’re here…
I am numb, achingly sore!

The Unforeseen Intrusion

This poem itself is a chance creation; made of thoughts never meant to be thought, written of words always meant to unwritten. This piece was written out of sheer, unbearable anger but I’m surprised to see it came out pretty well. Unlike most of my poems, The Unforeseen Intrusion isn’t completely based on pure imagination but there is a true background story, a real person and of course, some vivid moments I endured painstakingly which only words could describe. . .

And, to The One who inspired it, thank you! But I don’t mean it anymore :)

Happy read!

The Unforeseen Intrusion

You found me. . . .

Upon a chance encounter

On some forgotten afternoon

Like beholding a rare gem in a rocky shore

I was but blissful to be unseen, lone

Yet,

Bemused by your euphoric discovery

The unwelcome trespasser I greeted

In you, with looks of infallible fury

You could not see. . .

Intruder, I say

Beware before you further

Invade my consuming oblivion

Retreat, O Unwanted Visitor

If you are scared to lose

For you will be torn asunder

By sheer nostalgia of the bygone

When we were close. . .

You whispered to me

Forsaken memories of times halcyon

Once inseparably together

Closer than ever on evenings million

I was but ecstatic to linger no longer!

Still. . .

Blinded by an obstinate obsession

You breached my serenity

In retaliation I trampled all

Your vulnerable emotions

You, now none can heal!

Intruder, dare not infiltrate

The shadowing fortress of my mind

Return or evermore

You will live with regret

My lethal stab of rejection

You can’t withstand

Stay where you are, trespasser

Clinging to the edges of my subconscious

Meddle not but with wakefulness. . .

Or the abyss of agony will engulf you

If you dare come nearer

You pleaded. . .

To unveil my shrouded heart

Revealed to me your fervent dreams

Every compelling desire, you confessed

I was but caught in a sardonic frenzy

As I spurned your pleas

At long last

I let my true wishes be heard

Dream in vain no more, stranger

Shatter your castles of hope, I must

My doors forever remain closed shut

You are welcome nevermore

You are an intruder!

Moods : Call Me Versatile or Volatile ?

When I am drowning in a bottomless, murky ocean of melancholia,if you volunteer to be my 'heoric saviour',I would instantaneously spurn your seemingly selfless gesture of help! Are you wondering if I would rather accept and offer of 'uplifting conversation' with a school friend in my most personal moment of engulfing misery, disappointmentt or depression?Sorry. I'm afraid the answer is invariably a 'No'.

However, had you seen me in my happy, cheerful mood you would surely find it difficult to relate the "social pariah" side of me with the "crowd entertainer" one! Believe it or not, 'Loneliness' is my archenemy when I'm bubbling with happiness and merry, but ironically,  I would gladly shun myself from 'human company' if I'm engrossed in reflections or sulking in despair !

'Solitude' is invariably my secret hideout whenever I feel like a defeated warrior after losing the occasional battles of Life. Nothing feels so secure than to 'be on my own' as I'm teetering on the brink of a clasping depression or stubborn tantrums ! No matter how vicious be the storm of fury rummaging through my head , I would irrevocably flee to a tranquil , serene and endearing surrounding before I confronted the 'rebellious' inner ME ! The sole urge to hide myself away from every one's probing eyes ,in my moment of sudden despair or lingering embarrassment , overpowers my amicable attitudes and renders myself unresponsive , cold and introvert.

I prefer to be solitary whenever 'helplessness' crumbles my towering stamina not because of my fear of shame or self-consciousness.It's rather due to my insatiable , innate longing to ponder , by resorting to deep ,spiritual reflections, on my annoyingly ever-present vices. And , in that dire moment of salvation, I would love nothing but to embrace 'solitary hours' with my arms wide open ! A hardcore anti-pessimism, I can't imagine myself radiating the evil, negative energy of aggression, hostility and fury to the dear people living in my surroundings. So , to loneliness I see shelter and succumb to momentarily , with the flickering hope of resurrecting once again as a peaceful human being!

Once I emerge 'victorious' against the ever-potent rival - Agony - I can't wait but to return to the 'blissful crowd' of friends, family and neighbors . To me, my 'moment of euphoria' isn't meant to be treasured selfishly but to shared with everyone! Whenever my lips curl into a content smile, I want to bask in the love of my ever-familiar group of beloved ones. Nothing else matters  more when I'm jubilant than to induce my 'ecstasy' into others as well, so together we can relish the stoical, ethereal bliss of the precious moment.

My personal triumph at any aspect of life hardly prompts me to be boastful rather I gladly enjoy myself in the rapturous humility that lies in the acknowledgement of gratitude to others! The company of my beloved family, wonderful friends and entertaining neighbors alone itself makes ecstatic whenever my spirit's soaring high! Most of the time , I find myself both craving and striving for a little reason to 'smile', so that, I can lighten up the miserable souls around me by emanating the positive energy of optimism !

Does it need telling that 'life' , the most phenomenal experience of any organism , is a surreal combination of 'despair' and 'pure glee' ? So find our moods always swinging from high to low merely to maintain a harmonious balance of 'emotions' . Need I be any different ?!

Ciao  ;)

Verses : Pent- Up & Nowhere To Belong

When "freedom" is more subjective ,and the least "objective". . . . .

Insomniac Agony

But sleep eludes me. . . .
Spurning every seductive promise I make
And am I not Pain's favorite mistress?
Insomniac hours, ceaselessly writhing,
yet more of me it craves. . . .

Deprived, my eyes are lustful
Incessantly awaiting its soporific caress
For slumber, for solace , my maddening thirst ensues. . .

But sleep eludes me. . .
Alluring me in treacherous grace
And am I not Irony's dearest ally ?
Accursed with lonely nights, dreamless. . .

Prayers of Tomorrow

Arms raised, bent knees
While her vision blurs in the mist
Holding back drops of anguish
She vows to Him not to ever cease

Till her soul bids farewell
The last breath evades, till she perishes
Her faith should not falter the least
Let despair engulf her or treacherous bliss
She promises Him not to ever cease

To forever hope and pray
Whatever ordeals now before her lay
Let tomorrow be a better day

Dancing with Rain, in the Tempest

Carried away by the Rain....
And the fresh smell of earth that it brings. . . .
My body caged in a concrete prison,
Yet the mind stays afloat, free . . .
Outside it's pouring heavily, my soul craves to feel....
The trickling drops from the heavens ,the reviving wetness!

Outside the Tempest is dancing. . .
Drenching the sweet ground, flooding the brimming rivers...
And freeing the captive souls. . .

My body caged in a concrete prison,
Yet the mind stays afloat, free. . .
Carried away by the Rain..
And the fresh smell of earth that it brings.... ♥
